TURKISH OFFICES IN SAMOS: 1906, 20 pa. rose, vertical pair tied by two-line "PAQUEBOT ARRIVE" (Hosking 592) to an envelope to Trondhjem, Norway, mail posted at sea and cancelled at landing in port Smyrna, arrival on reverse "TRONDHJEM 6 V 07" as well as recipient private handstamp on obverse; fine, the convergence of a most unusual destination and a scarce paquebot cancel
"PER ST COLUMBUS", very fair strike in red with adjacent large red cds. "SAN FRANCISCO. 17 JUNE 40" on envelope to East Grandy Ct., fresh and very fine; an attractive and scarce cover transported on the first sailing of the steamer Columbus
HUDSON RIVER MAIL, 1849 : superb strike in red of the agent´s cds., with adjacent red postage due "5" (despite the distance being within the 300 miles limit), on a folded entire from New York to Utica, fully dated inside; some very light toning mentioned for accuracy, still very fine and scarce

1822, kompletter Faltbrief (datiert Belize 1.5.1822) mit Leitvermerk "pr. Ship Robert Fulton via N York" mit rotem EKr. "NEW-YORK MAY 21" und rotem L1 "SHIP" nach Portsmouth, New Hampshire in einwandfreier Erhaltung. Dazu zweiter Faltbrief aus New Orleans 1821 befördert mit der SS Robert Fulton via "NEW YORK JUL.24" nach Boston. Für beide Briefe waren die Briefgebühren nach "Act of 1816" 150-400 Meilen 18,5 Cent + Gebühr für Schiffsbrief 2 Cent = 20,5 Cent. Sehr seltener Schiffbrief, befördert mit dem ersten kommerzielen Ozean-Dampfschiff
1822, folded cover (dated Belize 1.5.1822) with routing mark "pr. Ship Robert Fulton via N York" with red cds. "NEW-YORK MAY 21" and red straigt line "SHIP" to Portsmouth, New Hampshire in perfect condition. In addition a second folded letter from New Orleans 1821 carried by the SS Robert Fulton via "NEW YORK JUL.24" to Boston. For both letters with letter rates according to "Act of 1816" 150-400 miles 18.5 cents + fee for ship's letter carge 2 cents = 20.5 cents. Very rare ship's letter, carried on the first commercial ocean steamship.
