1854/57, Half-Length 1 d. rose (shade), vivid colour and , close at base, otherwise large margins, unused with fresh original gum. Some tiny black spots, otherwise very fine. An attractive and scarce stamp. Certificate RPSV (2021)

"SAVED FROM THE WRECK OF THE COLOMBO", perfect strike of the emergency handstamp on envelope from New South Wales to Merthyr Tydvil, franked with 2 d. blue, two singles, adjacent cds. "SYDNEY OC 22 1862", red transit "LONDON JA 2 63 PAID" and reverse arrival. Cover salvaged from the ship´s wreck while on its way to Suez on 19 November 1862, both the envelope and the adhesives faulty as to be be expected, very scarce and most unusual mail from New South Wales

N1 4.9.73" in Rot klar auf kleinformatigem Briefkuvert mit handschriftlichem Leitvermerk "via Brindisi" und Handstempel "P.D" sowie Rötelvermerk "7 ¼" (Groschen) für die bar bezahlte Briefgebühr und blauem Tax-Vermerk "70" (Centesimi) für das italienische Weiterfranco via Brindisi nach Hobert Town, Tasmanien mit rückseitigem Ankunftsstempel und rotem Rhombus-Stempel "SHIP LETTER INWARDS FREE 21.OC.1873" in guter Gesamterhaltung. Ein dekorativer Überseebrief mit sehr seltener Destination Vandiemensland (Tasmanien), Australien
VICTORIA: 1857/60, 4 Pence rosa, gez. 12, senkrechtes Paar und Einzelwert, mit Nummernstempel "1" von Melbourne auf kleinem, teilbezahltem Briefkuvert über Frankreich, mit vorderseitigem "AUSTRALIE V. SUEZ AMB.A 6 OCT. 59" nach Brunsbütteler Hafen. Bei Ankunft taxiert mit "52" dänischen Skilling. Ein attraktiver und seltener Brief in sehr schöner Erhaltung. (SG 85)
