1871, Cérès 25 c. blue, horizontal pair and two singles paying the correct 1 franc rate, neatly tied at sea by the provisional dotted 144 points lozenge (Salles-Nr. 1070) alongside “PD” and paquebot “MONTEVIDEO 11 AOUT 73 PAQ. FR. J. N°3” to envelope to Clermont, re-addressed to Compiègne, endorsed “Par Vapeur français via Bordeaux” (mail on-board of the ocean liner Le Sénégal), reverse transit and arrival cds. “COMPIÈGNE 9 SEPT 73”. The envelope cut opened for display, some wear and tear, but still fine. A fantastic and particularly rare French ship mail provisional cancellation, certificate Scheller (2025)

ANG. V. BRIND A. MOD 22 JUIN 73” (Salles-Nr. 1895), reverse arrival cds., very fine and scarce 1,30 francs rate for the Brindisi route, signed Scheller

A scarce and lovely cover
25 c. blue, fresh colours, tied by large dotted lozenge “5104" SHANGHAI alongside red cds “PAQ. ANG. V. BRIND A. MOD 25 mai 72” (Salles-Nr. 1895) to printed matter together with its wrapper sent to Lyon, dated inside “Shanghai, 11 avril 1872”, no arrival, very fine. A lovely and most unusual usage via the Brindisi route
25 c. blue, bloc of four with horizontally lined background, tied by large dotted lozenge “5104” alongside cds. “SHANGHAI CHINE 28 NOV. 72” to folded lettersheet sent to a shipowner in Nantes, reverse transit and arrival cds. “NANTES 11 JANV. 73”, entire with light horizontal pressed crease barely affecting the lower pair, still very fine, signed Scheller. A scarce usage
“TABRIZ RUSS(IAN) CONSULATE 20 8 16 *”, two clear strikes tying a 20 kopek Romanov franking on a registered envelope to Iorev Lifland, Russia, departure cds. repeated on front alongside the scarce registered label from the consulate, censor marks and reverse arrival cds., back flap roughly opened as well as transportation traces, still fine and scarce
1910, Coat of Arms 10 k. tied by cds. “SHANGHAI POSTE RUSSE 20 5 1()” repeated alongside with blue circular "THE EKMAN FOREIGN AGENCIES LTD * SHANGHAI" to small improvised wrapper to Sweden, endorsed “sample of bamboo steel”. Despite some adhesive imperfections, a most unusual usage
1833, Rio de Janeiro to St. Malo, folded cover rated “9” in manuscript, denoting only the 6d. British rate and 3d. French inland rate, conveyed via the Jersey forwarding agents of Amiraux Le Breton & Co, with their endorsement at bottom, struck with black two-line GRANDE BRETAGNE / PAR ST MALO and St. Malo c.d.s. (6 Sep), light filing folds, fine and scarce.
"FIELD FORCE PERSIA 5 AU 57" with manuscript "4 as" on envelope to Bombay, with arrival mark. Very fine.
1916, 2 c. carmine/black, center inverted, used, perforation crease, otherwise fine
1876/77, Dom Pedro rouletted ,200 r. black, tied by segmented cork cancel in black with adjacent "RIO DE JANEIRO 1 FEV.83" letter sheet to Zürich, Switzerland, carried on French Packet 'Sénégal' with octagonal 'RIO DE JANEIRO / PAQ. FR. J. No. 3' datestamp in red (Salles fig. 1080). An attractive cover to an unusual destination at this time.
1897, red revenues 1 dollar, tied by blue Kiautschou c.d.s. to registered Maus cover with German Kiautschou 5 pfg., 10 pfg. and 25 pfg., with cds. "TSINGTAU 28/3 04" to Germany with arrival mark's.
