1917, Arad Airport first air force cancellations on Austrian fieldpost card: "K.u.K. Militärbauleitung am Flugfelde ARAD" in circle with coat of arms and twoliner with same text in violet. The airfield was based on the area where Aurel Vlaciu, a pioneer in Romanian aviation, constucted hanger and buildings with grass runways, vertical crease, otherwise fine. Unrecorded and important early aviation marks.

HYPERINFLATION: 1945/46, magnificent award-winning exhibit collection consisting of ca. 165 covers and parcel cards, showing a wonderful range of rates from all periods (1 to 27), with an abundance of better usages and interesting frankings, including Paid in Cash, Printed Matters, mail sent during the Grace Period (posted at the correct former rate), foreign destinations following - or preceding - the official reopening of international connection, etc.,; among the waterfall of better items we noted several covers from the 10th period (x5), 17th (x3), 19th (x4, including first day of rate), the scarcer 22th (x4, rate valid three days only), 23rd (x2) and 24th (x2), high franking achieved with fewer values including registered mail to USA correctly franked with 1 millio adópengö (x4), December 1945 cover to USA (5th period) with mixed franking of postage adhesives and paid in cash, provisional usage of the Holy Crown of St Istvan on parcel card (strictly controlled by the postal personal), February 1946 registered cover to London (7th period) correctly franked with few denomination of 3000 pengö, March 1946 cover to Canada (10th period) with large franking of the earlier Ezerp values, April 1946 correct Printed Matter rate to USA (12th Period), June 1946 underfranked cover with postage due during the Grace period, extremely rare use of the Milliard adhesives (100 m., 200m and 500 m. in multiples) on June 1946 Registered Express cover to Czechoslovakia (certificate Visnyovszki AIEP), exceptional 23rd Grace Period Paid in cash at the previous rate (one day Grace only), rare July 1946 (25th Period) cover to Wien franked with Billion values (certificate Visnyovszki AIEP), July 1946 (25th period) airmail cover to London, etc. A delighful collection, with an overall selection for quality, neatly mounted and expertly described in English on album pages, in 4 albums
