NOVGRAD-VOLYNSK (Ukraine): 10 kopeck brown & blue, good to large margins, tied by dotted rectangular "131" to small envelope to Byelaya Tserkov. Very fine and fresh. The only recorded No.1-entire from this small city. Certificate Buchsbayew (2014)

ODESSA (Ukraine): 10 kopeck brown & blue, touched at top and partly at right, otherwise ample margins (was lifted for inspection), tied by dotted oval "6" to letter sheet to Taganrog. On the rear framed “ODESSA 28 JUNE 1858” Just one further No.1 cover has been recorded with the dotted oval of Odessa. Certificate Buchsbayew (2022) 

OLGOPOL (Ukraine): 10 kopeck brown & blue, large even margins, cancelled by complete and quite clear strike of pre-philatelic boxed handstamp. Very fine and rare. Signed Buchsbayew

PERM: 10 kopeck brown & blue, slightly touched at lower left, otherwise good even margins, tied by clear strike of pre-philatelic double line "PERM 21 MARCH 1858" to entire letter to Moscow. Very fine and fresh. The only recorded No.1-cover from Param, which was in 1858 a small village in the isolated Ural area. Certificate Buchsbayew (2017)

POGAR: 10 kopeck brown & blue, good to large margins, used by light but clear strike of dotted rectangular “576”. Very fine. Signed Buchsbayew.

PUCHEZHSKY POSAD: 10 kopeck brown & blue, nice  even margins, tied by complete and clear strike of pre-philatelic double line to envelope to Moscow. Very fine and rare; the only recorded entire from this small village. Certificate Buchsbayew (2013)

REVAL (Estonia): 10 kopeck brown & blue, nice large even margins, tied by boxed pre-philatelic "REVAL 26 APR. 1858" to letter sheet to Borga in Finland. Very fine and exceedingly rare. Certificate Buchsbayew (2014)

RIGA (Latvia): 10 kopeck brown and blue, horizontal pair with good to large margins, tied by pen crosses to letter sheet to Pernau with reverse side dispatch mark "RIGA 10 FEB. 1858" and bilingual arrival mark. The right stamp with very minor and unobtrusive diagonal bend, still very fine and most attractive. An extremely rare franking. Certificates Mikulski (1995) and Citerne BPP (2026)

RIGA (Latvia): 10 kopeck brown and blue, good to large margins, tied by clear dotted numeral "38" to letter sheet to Libau with reverse side dispatch mark "RIGA 9 SEP. 1858". Some minor staining, otherwise very fine and attractive. 1 of just 2 entires recorded with this cancellation. Certificates Eisold (2001), Mandrovsky (2003) and Buchsbayew (2016)

RIGA (Latvia): 10 kopeck brown and blue, good to large margins, tied by clear c.d.s. "RIGA 7 MAY. 1858", to letter sheet to Twer, with arrival mark. Lettersheet at base with light staining, otherwise very fine and attractive. Certificate Buchsbayew (2017)

SARANSK: 10 kopeck brown & blue, good to large even margins, with central dotted rectangular "326" and adjacent dry strike of straight line "SARANSK", used on opened out envelope to Moscow. Very fine and fresh. The only recorded No.1-cover with this cancellation and one of just 2 recorded from the village of Saransk. Certificate Buchsbayew (2014)

SCHRUNDEN (Latvia): 10 kopeck brown & blue, good to large margins, tied by dotted rectangular "244", with adjacent pre-philatelic bilingual double circle with manuscript date "7/IX" to letter sheet to Sessilen. Very fine and attractive. The only recorded number 1 cover from this small village. Certificate Buchsbayew (2014) 

SLUTSK (BELARUS): 10 kopeck brown & blue, nice large margins, used with clear and almost complete strike of pre-philatelic straight line. Very fine and rare; the only recorded No.1 used in this small city. Signed Buchsbayew and Georg Bühler

SMOLENSK: 10 kopeck brown & blue, ample to large  margins, tied by large fancy double circle "SMOLENSK FEB.19 1858" to letter sheet to Twer. Some minor ink erosion in the address, otherwise very fine. 1 of just 2 entires recorded from Smolensk. Certificate Buchsbayew (2015)

ST.PETERSBURG: 10 kopeck brown & blue, large even margins, used with central dotted circle "1". Very fine and fresh. Only very few stamps of the 'Provisional Issue' have been used in the capital. Signed Buchsbayew

SVENTSIANY (LITHUANIA): 10 kopeck brown & blue, good to large  margins, tied by boxed pre-philatelic "SVIENTSIANY" with matching double line despatch mark, to small cover to Warzaw, with both red arrival mark and boxed "1/P"(offset on front). TALSEN (LATVIA): 10 kopeck brown & blue, clear to large  margins, tied by pen cross to small entire letter (dated inside "Pastensens (?) 22 März 58") with adjacent pre-philatelic double line "TALISIEN 22 MAR 1858", to Mitau with bilingual arrival mark. Some very minor toning, otherwise very fine. A very rare and attractive No.1-usage from a tiny village.  Certificate Buchsbayew (2014)

 

TAUROGGEN (Lithuania): 10 kopeck brown & blue, large margins, tied by boxed  "TAUROGEN 28 MAR 1858" to lettersheet with reverse side oval handstamp "SPEDITIONS-GESCHÄFT JOHN G. KNIEP/TAUROGGEN", to Riga, with arrival mark. Supposed to origin from (most likely) German soil and forwarded. Just four similar entires with the Kniep handstamp have been recorded. TAUROGGEN (Lithuania): 10 kopeck brown & blue, good to large margins, tied by boxed  "TAUROGEN 21 MAY 1858" and oval sender's mark to lettersheet to St. Petersburg, with “Saint Petersburg 24 May 1858” arrival mark. Very fine and most attractive. Certificate Buchsbayew (2014)

TELSHI (Lithuania): 10 kopeck brown & blue, slightly touched at upper right, otherwise good to large margins, tied by dotted rectangular "183" to envelope with matching dispatch c.d.s. on reverse, to Wilno (Vilnius). Tiny parts of ink removed in the lower left margin of the stamp, otherwise fine. Very rare; just 2 other No.1-entires have been recorded from Telshi. Certificate Buchsbayew (2014)

UMAN (UKRAINE): 10 kopeck brown & blue, good to large margins, tied by boxed "UMAN 3 JUNE 1858" (with "3" and "58" added in manuscript) to letter written entirely in yiddish (outer flaps partly missing), to Zhitomir. The stamp with tiny surface scratch in the lower frame line, otherwise very fine and fresh. A very rare No.1-usage; just one further entire has been recorded from this small place. WOLMAR (Valmiera, Latvia): 10 kopeck brown & blue, good to large margins, neatly tied by large part of boxed "WOLMAR OTPRAVLENO" to piece. Very fine and rare. Signed Buchsbayew.

ZHITOMIR(Ukraine): 10 kopeck brown & blue, good to large  margins, tied by pen star and boxed pre-philatelic " ZHITOMIR 28 (JANUARY 1858)" to almost entire letter (parts of outer flaps missing) to Kiev. Slightly cleaned, otherwise very fine. Very rare and attractive.  Certificate Buchsbayew (2017)

1858, perforated issue 10 kopeck brown & blue and 20 kopeck blue & orange, both in nice fresh colour and well perforated, used with clear boxed dotted numeral "69" to entire letter, dated inside October 19, 1858, with reverse side dispatch mark of Veliky Ustyug (slightly improved with pencil), to Volodga, with arrival mark of October 24. The stamps were removed for inspection and replaced. A very fine and fresh entire of the utmost rarity, only one further such combination on entire has been recorded. Certificate Buchsbayew (2022)

1858, 30 kopeck carmine & green, thin paper, nice fresh colour and well centered, with intact perforations on all sides, tied by pen cross to triple rate envelope with reverse side dispatch mark "SERPEYSK" (a small village in Kaluga Province), to St. Petersburg, with arrival mark of May 15, 1858. The envelope with usual transportation marks. A great rarity; just 9 single frankings of this stamp have been recorded, this being the only one with manuscript cancellation. Note: In the 1920s a pencrossed No. 1 was fraudulently added to create a unique mixed franking. This stamp was now removed to put the cover back in it's original state of conservation. (corresponding certificate Mikulski, 1995)
