REVAL NEWSPAPER / REVALER ZEITUNG, historic document of 1919, from the collection of the US Library of Congress, several hundred pages, mostly complete newspaper issues from June 2nd to August 14, 1919. In German, with philatelically relevant articles, e.g. "Luftverkehr und Luftpost" (June 4, 1919, p.3 bottom right) and "Wie unser Papier entsteht" (June 26, 1919). Some pages with tears, mostly good condition.

1873, Amadeus 50c. brown, two horizontal pairs tied by "Parilla" cancel to folded lettersheet endorsed "Via inglesa", considered unpaid for the transatlantic journey thus charged "17" upon delivery and postage due 1l. applied, right stamp with small tear, otherwise a fine and attractive entire, certificates PF (1984) and CEM (1985)

1 sgr. light brownish-red, horizontal pair with good to large margins, nicely cancelled by central strike of target of Ettelbrück, very fine, opinion Böttger BPP (2018)

1860, 10 k. darkblue & rose, nice fresh colour and very well perforated, tied by neat strike of numeral "1" WARSAW to piece, very fine, signed Mikulski with certificate

1922, Definitive 2½d. imperforated colour proof in ochre, unused and mounted on chalk paper (40X40mm) with stamped number "9" on top, very fine and rare (Michel 44 P)

Russia 1858, 20 k. blue/orange on thick paper, used with central "67" GONCZYCE; one perf slightly short, otherwise very fine, signed Petriuk with certificate

TRAFNIK: "Trafnik", Arabic triple oval, good strike on postage due 1869, 20 pa. brown on reverse of entire letter, fine

"Blood's Despatch" 1c. bronze with acid cancel and 5 C. dark brown, vertical pair with clear to large margins all round, all tied by blue integral-rate cds. "PHILADA Pa. APR. 15 10" to folded letter with part contents to Detroit, wax seal removed, extremely fine and on eof only three frankings of a 1847 5c pair with Scott No. 15L17, PF certificate Provenance: Joseph Hackmey

1915,  coronation issue 1 ch. in vertical pair with 3 ch., 12 ch. and Ahmad Shah 2 ch. tied to reverse of registered envelope from Recht to England with Russian censor mark and arrival mark; large part of cover flap removed by opening, a very scarce mixed franking

2 d. blue, good to wide margins, tied by black MC to small piece, fine, signed Pfenninger

1874/75, Postanweisung 7 Kr. blau mit handschriftlichem Zusatz "Per. Telegram" von "AUGSBURG 2 APR. 1875" nach Ulm, kleine Bedarfsspuren, in dieser Form sehr selten

Vaduz-Lausannefahrt, Karte mit zusätzlich Liechtenstein 1 Fr. mit rotem Sonderstempel, äußerst selten und nur sehr wenige Belege bekannt (SLH 8.000,- SFr.) Flight to Vaduz and Lausanne, card with additional franking Liechtenstein 1 fr. with red special cancellation; very scarce and only few items known (SLH 8.000,- SFr.)

RUSSIA USED IN POLAND: 1866/75, 3 k. black/green on vertically laid paper with 5 k. on horizontally laid paper and 1865, 20 k. (the latter 2 with small faults) tied by ring cancel "BW" to envelope with adjacent cyrillic double line and bowed "FRANCO" to Paris

TUZLA: "Tuzla", Arabic boxed marking in blue on 1868/70, 1 pia. and 2 pia. on envelope to Saraybosna with clear additional strike alongside; the envelope somewhat refolded, otherwise fine; a rare entire

"Blood's City Despatch" 2 c. bronze and 1847 5c. red brown, clear to large margins all round tied by light blue cds. "PHILADA. PA. JAN 10" to folded letter sent to Washington, very fine and especially rare because the Blood's stamp is frequently seen with a disfiguring acid cancel and is rarely tied by a datestamp, certificate PF.  Provenance: Joseph Hackmey
