UPU: "Treaty concerning the formation of a General Postal Union. Signed at Berne, October 9, 1874." Published in London 1875, in very fine condition. The original document as English translation from the French document, as presented "to both Houses of Parliament by Commando of Her Majesty". The first paragaraph reads: "Treaty concerning the formation of a General Postal Union, concluded between Germany, Austro-Hungary, Belgium, Denmark, Egypt, Spain, The United States of America, France, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey." The "certificate of birth" of the UPU, containing all the revolutionary regulations which made the Postal Union so forward-looking as fixed rates, prepayment of sendings and exchange of sendings in foreign destination mail. Article 19 is stating: "The present Treaty shall come into force on the 1st July 1875." A document of inestimable value for postal history and a gem for every postal history specialist.

UPU: "Detailed Regulations for the Execution of the Treaty concerning the formation of a General Postal Union. Concluded at Berne, October 9, 1874." Published in London 1875, little stained, in good condition. Original document with 28 p. as English translation, as presented "to both Houses of Parliament by Commando of Her Majesty". Supplement of the UPU-treaty explaining the articles of the treaty in detail and fixing detailed regulations for assembling and handling of postal sendings. Remarkable document from the "birth" of the UPU, worth to be kept and examinated by every postal history specialist, an ideal addition to the preliminary lot.

GROSSBRITANNIEN: Seiner königlichen Majestät von Groß-Britannien Chur-Fürstliche Braunschweig-Lüneburgische Post-Ordnung, publiciret im Monat September 1755, 28seitiges Original, links gelumb., sehr gut erhalten, interessante frühe Postverordnung

PREUSSEN: Preußische Postverordnungen von 1687/1803, umfangreiche Archivsammlung von sämtlichen Postverordnungen, Edicten und Reglementen, die in diesem Zeitraum von seiner Königlichen Majestät in Preußen veröffentlicht wurden, in 3 Folianten, die in hochwertiges antikes Leder gebunden worden sind, in sehr guter Erhaltung. Die Verordnungen wurden in aufwändiger Gestaltung von den Hofdruckereien in Berlin, Potsdam und Cölln an der Spree gedruckt; von besonderem Interesse hierbei ist die 95 Seiten umfassende "Post-Ordnung für sämtliche königliche Provinzen" vom 26. November 1782, welche durch eine große Zahl zeitgenössischer handschriftlicher Vermerke im Dienstgebrauch ergänzt wurde. Eine in dieser Form einmalige Dokumentation des historischen Postwesens in Preußen, welche sowohl zeit- als auch postgeschichtlich von höchsten Interesse ist. Das vorliegende Los wurde letztmalig vor mehr als 25 Jahren auf einer Auktion versteigert und erzielte damals einen Zuschlag von 22.000,- DM (Ausruf 20.000,- DM). Von musealem Charakter.
