1862, 2 rp. grey in vertical block of 10, fresh colour and good to large margins all around, cancelled by several nice strikes of cds. "THUN 29 MAI 1863 VORMITTAG"; a rare and attractive multiple in very fine condition, we have only 2 other blocks of 10 recorded of this stamp. Zumstein 21G

1881: Cover from Bangkok to Paris franked by Straits Settlements 8 c. orange-yellow tied by bamboo lozenge of dots handstamp in black and by part 'E. Lamache & Co. / Bangkok (Siam)' Company cachet in blue. The correctly rated cover with fine strike of octagonal French Paquebot POSS. ANGL. / PAQ. FR. N. No. 8 datestamp (Sept 29) in black (Salles fig. 1933) and carried on the 'Anadyr'. Red 'Modane A Paris' TPO at left (Oct 30). Reverse with large SINGAPORE / PAID cds in red (Sept 29) and Paris arrival cds (Oct 30). Slight cut in face panel and seal removed from reverse but an extremely rare cover.

1883: 1 solot indigo horizontal pair, 1 a. rose carmine horizontal pair, 1 sio red and 1 salung brown-ochre, all used on 1887 double rate cover to Alexander von Roessing in Singapore, neatly tied by three BANGKOK / PAID datestamps (25/3) in black. Blue oval 'Markwald & Co.' Company cachet at lower left and reverse with Singapore arrival datestamp (March 30) in black. A magnificent and previously unrecorded cover. Gi. 1,2,3,5 Note: The post-UPU rate to Singapore was 9 atts for a single letter under ½ ounce, the above cover correctly franked for the double rate of 18 atts.

1911 (Dec 6): Thailand 6 satang on 4 atts. carmine postal stationery card, written from Ouhane (Laos) and mailed to Vienna; cancelled by bilingual UBON datestamp in blue. Faint Vientiane / Laos datestamp in black below (Dec 13) with reverse showing 'Saigon Central / Cochinchine' datestamp (Dec 22) in black. Rare usage.

1941, Bang Pa-In Palace issue, 31 mostly bi-coloured imperforated essays in denomination 2 st. (4), 15 st. (15) and 10 baht (12), ungummed, hinged on pages. These essais were printed by the Royal Dutch Printers "De Unie" in Batavia, Netherlands East Indies as proposal for the new issue; only few  did survive, few similar items exist in different sizes and denominations. An exceedingly rare group; these essais are not recorded in Anatchai Rattakul study of Thai Mail 1836-1943 (only plate proofs in the issued design being illustrated) and not found in any of the important Thailand stamp collections of the last few decades.

1915: War Charity Booklet, Red Crescent second issue, complete example with all with the full 20 panes intact, 12 panes in perfect quality and just a eight panes stuck together but intact. One of just 3 or 4 Booklets recorded and most probably the finest known example in brilliant condition for this rarity Mi = € 1'300 for mounted pane = € 20'000+ / Isfila # K7/K12 = 8'000 T.Lire = £ 2'100 for each pane, 16 panes = £ 33'600.

1863: Postage Due 5 pi. black on brown thin paper, a superb 'head to head' vertical tête-bêche pair, with error of Control ban at base (in red instead of blue), huge margins all round and tied to cover to Deraliye by neat strikes of the dotted 'Battal' in black. Front of cover marked 'Erreur' in manuscript ink. An extremely rare cover. Cert. Isfila (2014).

1869: Postage Due Duloz 20 pa. deep brown & pale brown and 1 pi. deep brown & pale brown, rough perf. 5-11, used on 1874 (May 6) entire letter to Tirnovo tied by DEERSADET 3 / 1290 circular handstamps in black (Zia & Bulent # 21, unrecorded on cover). Reverse with Stamboul datestamp in black. A wonderful entire in perfect quality.

Syria: 1868, Duloz 20 pa. green, 2 ghr. brick-red strip of three, a pair and a single and 5 ghr. blue two singles tied by arabic rectangle "HALEP" (Coles & Walker fig. 5) to reverse of cover from Marseille franked with five singles 1862 Napoleon 80 c. rose, reverse franking some stamps cut due to opening, nevertheless a rare and attractive high value franking, signed Sorani.

Syria: 1869, Postage Due Duloz 20 pa. and 1 ghr. brown tied by arabic rectangle "HALEP" (Coles & Walker fig. 5) to reverse of cover from Marseille franked with 1853 Napoleon 80 c. carmine and 1862 Napoleon two 20 c. blue and 40 c. orange, front with blue two-line "POST FRANCAISE D'ALEP", one vertical fold through French stamp, some other imperfections, nevertheless a scarce and attractive cover.

Yemen 1909: Turkey 1 pi. blue used on 1912 cover from Lahye tied by bold strike of bilingual LAHIÉ datestamp in violet (Coles & Walker fig. 95 / Zia & Bulent 2, unrecorded on cover). Superb and of great rarity.

1847, Franklin 5c. red brown, fresh colour and clear to full margins all round, tied by pen strokes to buff cover with "E. & T. Fairbanks & Co" blue embossed cameo on top backflap to Peacham, Vt., light cds. "ST. JOHNSBURY VT. JUL 18" alongside, scarce demonitized usage, flap with some faults, otherwise fine, certificate PF.

5c. red brown, fresh colour and ample to large margins all round, tied by red cds. "NARRAGUAGUS Me. OCT 1" with additional pen stroke to folded letter to Cherryfield and redirected to Machia with red arrival cds., fine. Scott No. 1

5c. brown, fresh colour and good to large margins all round, tied by blue grid of diamond shaped dots to folded lettersheet with red cds. "EASTHAMPTON MASS. AUG 1" to the Allegany County Clerk, contents regarding a $ 6,000 judgement awarded by the State Supreme Court, docketing extends to front, very fine. Provenance: Joseph Hackmey

5c. red brown, deep and fresh colour, large to huge margins with part of adjoininig stamp at left, tied by blue circular cancel with matching integral-rate cds. "PHILADA. Pa. Feb. 4 5cts" alongside to folded letter to Amsterdam, Holland, front with sender's routing "Steamer from Boston to Liverpool" and manuscript "110" Dutch cents due marking, "1/4" debit for postage due to Great Britain, red Liverpool transit and red Amsterdam arrival mark on reverse, extremely fine and perhaps the finest 1847 cover to Holland. Note: This letter was carried on the Cunarder Niagara, departing Boston on Feb. 6, 1850, and arriving in Liverpool on Feb. 18. Some covers from Philadelphia to Boston have a single 5c 1847 stamp for the under-300 miles rate, while others have a 5c pair or single 10c 1847 for the over-300 miles rate (the straight-line distance is 267 miles).  5c. red brown, four singles, all fresh colour with ample to large margins, one just touched at bottom, cancelled by black grids, two stamps with additional red "PAID" handstamp, matching red cds. "BOSTON MAS MAR 18" and "20" rate handstamp alongside on legal-size folded letter to Eastport Me., faint vertical file folds barely affect two stamps, very fine appearance, a rare quadruple-rated use of the 5c. 1847 issue. 5c. red brown, two vertical pairs, clear to large margins all round, except just cut into at top left of one stamp, one stamp with dot in "S" variety, all stamps with preprinting paperfolds visible to varying degrees including one clearly visible, all tied by red grid cancels to folded letter to Baltimore with red cds. 1851, Franklin 1c. blue, Type Ia, position 92L4, and 3c. dull red vertical pair and four singles and 12c. black, all tied by black grid cancel to buff envelope to Coburg, manuscript "with closed Prussian mails" at top left, several transit marks alongside, 1c. overpayment of the 30c. rate to Germany, some faults, a very rare stamp, especially used to a foreign destination, 1981 and 1999 PF certificates.
