1858, unbezahlter kpl. Brief von "TRIESTE 19/2" nach Aleppo mit vorderseitig klarem blauen "AGENZIA DEL LLOYD AUSTRIACO ALEPPO", taxiert mit "12" Kreuzern zu Lasten des Empfängers.

AUSTRIA - EGYPT: 1869, quadruple rate registered envelope to Alexandria "poste restante" and forwarded to Cairo, franked with 1867, coarse printing 50 kr. brownish rose,  and 10 kr. blue (2), tied by cds. "SALZBURG STADT 11/9 69" with adjacent boxed "RECOM. No.  ". Seal on reverse cut out and envelope with slight transportation marks due to the high weight, still fine and very attractive. A very rare cover and most likely a unique usage of the 50 kr.-value. Certificate Dr. Ferchenbauer (1994)

AUSTRIA - CEYLON: 1866, slip or cover front with pre-printed adress from Vienna to Galle, franked with 1864, 10 kr. blue and single stamp and strip of four 15 kr. brown, tied by clear "WIEN 2/2". At Alexandria franked with 1 sh. green for the conveyance to Ceylon, tied by "B01" with adjacent "ALEXANDRIA FE 10 66". The slip is mounted on paper, usual smal transportation marks, otherwise fine and fresh. The only recorded item from the German-Austrian-Postal Union to Ceylon with combination franking of Alexandria. Certificate Dr. Ferchenbauer (2010)

In Alexandria zusätzlich frankiert mit 1 Sh. grün für die Beförderung nach Ceylon, entwertet durch "B01" mit nebengesetztem "ALEXANDRIA FE 10 66". Der Beleg ist auf Papier aufgeklebt, übliche kleine Transportspuren, sonst gute und frische Erhaltung. AUSTRIA – DUTCH INDIES: 1863, lettersheet from Trieste to Batavia on the island of Java, franked with 1861, Franz Joseph 2 kreuzer yellow in combination with Eagle 1863, 5 kreuzer rose and 1863/64,  2 pairs 15 kreuzer brown, all tied by 3 clear strikes of oval „COL VAPORE DA TRIESTE“. At Alexandria additionally franked with GB 1862, 1 sh. green, tied by „B01“, for the distance from Alexandria to Singapore; here additionally charged with „25“ Dutch cents for the conveyance to Batavia, to be paid by the recipient. On reverse transit marks of the Austrian and British POs of December 17 resp. 18, 1863. A most attractive and very fine entire showing a unique mixed franking of 3 different issues of Austria with GB and one of just 3 recorded entires with the GB 1863 1 sh. green used at Alexandria. 1863, Briefhülle von Triest nach Batavia auf der Insel Java, frankiert mit 1861, Franz Joseph 2 Kreuzer gelb in Kombination mit Adler 1863, 5 Kreuzer rosa und 1863/64, 2 Paare 15 Kreuzer braun, paarweise entwertet mit 3 klaren Abschlägen des Ovalstempels "COL VAPORE DA TRIESTE". In Alexandria zusätzlich frankiert mit GB 1862, 1 Sh. grün, entwertet mit "B01", für die Strecke von Alexandria nach Singapur und hier zusätzlich taxiert mit "25" holländischen Cent für die Beförderung nach Batavia, die vom Empfänger erhoben wurden. Rückseitig Transitstempel der österreichischen und britischen Post vom 17. bzw. 18. Dezember 1863. Ein höchst attraktiver und einwandfrei erhaltener Brief mit einer einzigartigen Mischfrankatur von 3 verschiedenen Ausgaben Österreichs und britischer Weiterfrankatur und einer von nur 3 registrierten Briefen mit der GB 1863 1 Sh. grün verwendet in Alexandria. AUSTRIA - PHILIPPINES: 1857, entire letter from Trieste to Manila, prepaid with 49 kreuzer, and originally franked with 1850/54, 2 copies 2 kreuzer black and  9 kreuzer blue, strip of three and two singles (one fallen off and mistakenly replaced by a  2 kreuzer stamp), all tied by cds. "TRIEST 10 8" (1857). On reverse noted "9/30" for the sea postage from Trieste to Alexandria and the conveyance to Singapore; another "2" reales for the postage from Singapore to Manila had to be paid by the recipient. On front faint red cds. of Alexandria with adjacent"1/-" in red crayon. Usual slight ageing and transportation marks; overall a fine and attractive entire. This is the only recorded letter from Austria via the 'overland mail' to the Philippines. Certificate Enzo Diena (stating 2 kreuzer repaired).

1857, kompletter Faltbrief von Triest nach Manila, mit 49 Kreuzern bezahlt bis Singapur,  ursprünglich frankiert mit 1850/54, 2 Exemplaren 2 Kreuzer schwarz und Dreierstreifen und zwei Einzelmarken 9 Kreuzer blau (eine abgefallen und irrtümlich durch eine 2-Kreuzer-Marke ersetzt), alle mit EKr. "TRIEST 10 8" (1857). Rückseitig in Rötel "9/30" für das Seeporto von Triest nach Alexandria und die Beförderung nach Singapur; weitere "2" Reales für das Porto von Singapur nach Manila waren vom Empfänger zu zahlen. Vorderseitig schwacher roter Transitstempel von Alexandria sowie "1/-" in roter Kreide. Übliche leichte Alterungs- und Transportspuren, insgesamt ein gut erhaltener und attraktiver Brief. Dies ist der einzige registrierte Brief aus Österreich über die 'overland mail'  auf die Philippinen. Fotoattest Enzo Diena ("2 Kreuzer repariert").

SWITZERLAND - JAPAN: 1870, entire letter to Yokohama, franked with 1862/81, 5 c. ocre, 20 c. orange and 30 c. light ultramarine in strip of 3, cancelled by straight line "NEUKIRCH a/Th" and additionally tied by cds "BÜRGLEN 5 JUNI 70". The letter is endorsed "Via Triest&Suez", on reverse transit marks of Vienna and Hongkong and arrival mark of the British PO. The left stamp of the strip lightly affected by horizontal cover crease, the 20 c. missing corner perf at lower right, otherwise very fine and fresh, especially for this exotic destination. "BÜRGLEN 5 JUNI 70"; Leitvermerk "Via Triest&Suez", rückseitig Transitstempel von Wien und Hongkong und Ankunftsstempel der britischen Post. Die linke Marke des Streifens leicht durch waagerechten Briefbug beeinträchtigt, die 20 C. rechts unten eckrund, sonst sehr schöne und frische Erhaltung, besonders für diese exotische Destination. TURKISH EMPIRE - FRANCE: 1857, unpaid printed matter lettersheet from Constantinople (dated inside 3.2.) to Valreas in the south of France , transported via Trieste with front side "Let.a. arr.te per mare" and further via Austria, Prussia and Belgium with front side blue "AUTR./ VAL.NES 26 FEVR. 57", charged with "20" centimes to be paid by the recipient.

TURKISH EMPIRE - PRUSSIA: 1857 (ca.), unpaid envelope from the Austrian post office at Trabzon with black double line "TREBIZONDA 7. SETT." to Berlin. At Trieste boxed "71/4" (silbergroschen) due applied, to be paid by the recipient. A rare early cover from Trabzon to central Europe.

TURKISH EMPIRE - GREAT BRITAIN: 1864, unpaid entire letter from the Austrian PO at Constantinople to London , rated in manuscript "20/35" new kreuzer for sea postage to Triest and the conveyance from Trieste to England. At Trieste tax mark "7" (silbergroschen) applied for the conveyance from smyrna to Aachen, here "7½" applied for the non-british postage due, to be completed by the british share of 4 d. to a total due of "1/1" to be paid by the receipient.

TURKISH EMPIRE - GREAT BRITAIN: 1865, lettersheet with part of contens from Constantinople to London, franked with 3 copies Austrian Levante 1864, 15 so. brown, tied by single circle "CONSTANTINOPEL 18/2"; adjacent tax stamp "F.14" (credit 14 kreuzer) of Aachen; very fine.

TURKISH EMPIRE - NETHERLANDS: 1859, unpaid entire letter from the Austrian PO at Smyrne to Amsterdam (contens: delivery of turkish ginger to the Netherlands), rated in blue crayon "20/25" new kreuzer, at Trieste tax mark "7" (silbergroschen) applied for the conveyance from smyrna to the dutch border; including 10 cents dutch internal rate the receipient was charged with a total of "55" cents.
 

TURKISH EMPIRE - SWITZERLAND: 1864, unpaid entire letter from the Austrian PO at Constantinople to Zürich , rated in manuscript "20/25" new kreuzer for sea postage to Triest and the conveyance from Trieste to Zürich, in Wurttemberg rated "23" kreuzer Southern German currency till the Swiss border and in Zürich charged with a total of "90" rappen to be paid by the receipient.

TURKISH EMPIRE (AEGEAN ISLANDS) - AUSTRIA: 1866, lettersheet with part of text from Mytilene to Trieste, franked with Austrian Levante forerunner 1863, 5so. rose and 1864, 15 so. brown, tied by clear "METELINE 28/9". Desinfection slits, one affecting the 15 so. at bottom. Fine and attractive.

TURKISH EMPIRE (CRETE) - AUSTRIA: 1869, entire letter to Trieste, franked with Austrian Levante forerunner 1864, 5 so. rose and 1867, 10 so. blue, tied by clear "RETTIMO 15/2". A scarce combination, very fine and attractive.

TURKISH EMPIRE (CYPRUS) - AUSTRIA: 1871, entire letter to Trieste, franked with Austrian Levante 1867, 5 so. rose and 1867, 10 so. blue, tied by cds. "LARNACA DI CIPRO 26/5". A scarce letter, very fine and attractive.

TURKISH EMPIRE (DODECANESE) - AUSTRIA: 1866, entire letter, dated inside "Symi Apr. 30/ 12 mai 1866" to Trieste, franked with Austrian Levante 1864, 5 so. rose and 1867, 15 so. brown, tied by double line "RHODUS 6 MAG.". Some very minor staining, otherwise very fine. An interesting letter from a small Island.

TURKISH EMPIRE (LEBANON) - UNITED STATES: 1865, cover from Beirut to Washington D.C., franked with Austrian Levante 1864, 10 so. blue and 4 copies 15 so. brown, tied by single circle "BERUTTI 23/11"; adjacent red crayon "50" soldi foreign postage corresponding to red "AACHEN paid 23 cts", and red "N. YORK AM. PKT. PAID 1865 24 DEC.". 10 so. slightly damaged at top, where affixed over the edge of the cover and few shortish perfs, otherwise very fine with usual slight transportation marks. A scarce early cover from the Levante to the United States.

Handpapier 1 Kreuzer ockergelb und 2 Kreuzer schwarz, je 2 Einzelwerte, alle farbfrisch und voll- bis meist breitbandig mit klarem Zier-DKr. "ISTVANDY  22/3" (1850) auf Briefhülle nach Warasdin. Handpapier 1 Kreuzer gelb, drei Einzelwerte zusammen mit 6 Kreuzer braun, alle farbfrisch und voll-bis breitbandig, mit EKr. "KRONSTADT 11/11" auf komplettem Faltbrief nach Temesvar mit Durchgangsstempel von Hermannstadt und Ankunftsstempel. Die sechs Kreuzer kleine Papierpore, sonst einwandfrei. Handpapier 2 Kreuzer schwarz, allseits breitrandig, zusammen mit 3er-Block 9 Kreuzer blau, unten leicht berührt, sonst teils lupenrandig bis breitrandig,  mit L2 "PRESSBURG 20 JUL." (1851) auf kleinem Briefkuvert über Preußen und Belgien nach Beauly in Schottland mit vorderseitigem Eingangsstempel. Der Brief ist portogerecht frankiert nach dem bis zum August 1852 gültigen Tarif mit 9 Kreuzern Vereinsporto und 20 Kreuzern je 10 g  Fremdporto. Die Frankatur teils geringe Lagerungsspuren, sonst einwandfrei. Eine seltene Frankaturkombination und einer der frühesten voll frankierten Auslandsbriefe Österreichs. Handpapier 3 Kreuzer rot, geripptes Papier, zusammen mit Normalmarke, beide farbfrisch und voll-bis breitbandig, mit DKr. "KÖRMÖCZRANYA 20/6" auf Briefhülle mit Teil des Inhaltes nach Ofen. Die Normalmarke leichte Bugspur im rechten Rand, sonst tadellos. Signiert Ferchenbauer.

Handpapier 3 Kreuzer rot und 6 Kreuzer braun, beide farbfrisch und voll- bis breitrandig mit klar aufgesetztem DKr. "SZÖLLÖS GYÖRÖK 23/2" auf Briefkuvert (eine Seitenklappe fehlt) an einen Militär in Varel, Großherzogtum Oldenburg; sehr schöne und sonst einwandfreie Erhaltung. Eine seltene Destination im Wechselverkehr.

Handpapier 3 Kreuzer rot und  2 Einzelwerte 6 Kreuzer braun (vorder- bzw. rückseitig geklebt), alle farbfrisch und voll- bis breitbandig mit klarem Zier-DKr. "SZ.JANOS 15/11" (1850) auf rekommandierter Briefhülle nach Unterleinleiter in Bayern. Rückseitig Siegelfleck, sonst einwandfreie Erhaltung.

TOKAYER-'VERSUCHSDURCHSTICH': Handpapier 3 Kreuzer rot, Type Ia, mit allseits vollständigem, grob ausgeführtem Durchstich, mit sauber  aufgesetztem großen Ovalstempel "TOKAY" auf komplettem Faltbrief mit handschriftlichem Datum "28/4" (1851) nach Miskolcz mit Transit- und Ankunftsstempeln. Ein außerordentlich seltener und postgeschichtlich interessanter Brief in einwandfreier und ursprünglicher Erhaltung; ein Brief mit  'Patriotischer Frankatur' mit demselben Durchstich befand sich in der Sammlung Capellaro.
