1858, single 5ø green and 30ø brown, vertical pair 12ø blue and 1862 3ø brown, all tied by cds. “FINERÖDJA 22 10" to insufficiently paid cover, initially franked with, Franklin 1c. blue and Jackson 2c. brown tied by cork cancel, via “BOSTON DIRECT” and “HAMBURG 16 10 71” to Finerödja, Sweden. In red crayon charged with „61“, the Swedish adhesives adding up to 62ø, possibly due to the fact that other values to make the correct charge were unavailable. Despite slight and expected ageing an exceptional and only Transatlantic Mail cover to Sweden which has a combination of postal adhesives from both countries. This is probably the most important UPU Transatlantic Mail cover from the USA to Sweden, certificate Obermüller-Wilen (2011) (Facit 7c2,9d3,11e2,14Bd)

1886, 3 ö. yellowish-brown and orange-brown (two different shades), with 1892 1 ö. brown/blue, 2 ö. blue/yellow and 4 ö. carmine/blue in strips of three, neatly tied by dotted cds. "LUND 17 9 1892" to 10 öre registered postal stationery envelope to San Marino, Italy, alongside boxed "SVERIGE R", reverse transit cds. "MALMO POST 18 9 1892". Faint stamping of the cancellation device on reverse, of no importance, cover correctly franked at the 40 öre tariff, very fine and attractive, a delightful item combining scarce franking and rare destination, certificate Obermüller Wilén BPP, AIEP (2019) (Facit-Nr. 41a, 41b, 61b, 62a, 64a)

1859 (September 7), folded cover from Constantinople to New York, postmarked with Constantnople (Turquie) c.d.s. of the French Post Office, handstamped with boxed PD in black, endorsed to be carried under the care of the Consul of the United States in Havre, France, handstamped "PURIFIE AUX LAZARETTE MALTE" in black, with dual disinfections slits across address, reverse with blue Paris transit c.d.s. (Sep 25), fine.

1919, Postal order for 7219 shahiv from “ORYNIN POD. 18 11 19” to Kamjanez-Podilskyj, franked Russia 15k. and Ukraine 76 values Coat of arms 10 sh. yellow-brown and 307 values of 20 sh. brown, some obvious and unavoidable faults due to the size of the franking, but a highly attractive and scarce inflation franking sent during the brief occupation by the Polish military

The sender Michael Thomas Bass was a politician and leader of the largest brewery in the world and best known brand of beer in England, the addressee Baron Liebig a famous German chemist.  

1850, Prince Consort 1 pence essay in red-brown, fresh colour and good to wide margins on all sides, unused with small rubber spot on top of front, otherwise fine, rare, certificate RPS (1969).

1848, 10 d. brown, 1862 re-issue period, fresh colours, touched framelines on three sides, tied by duplex “LONDON NO. 3 63 -90” to mourning envelope to Bombay, mis-directed to Beverley with scarce “MIDLAND/DIST. S.C.” and arrival on reverse, there re-directed with handwritten “not for Beverley” and “try Bombay via Marseilles”, finally backstamped on arrival “BOMBAY DE 10 63”. The adhesive roughly detached from the sheet as an improvised method of separation, otherwise fine. A very rare usage of the re-issued 10 d. brown, correctly paying the newly introduced reduced rate to India, a charming item, certificate K.-A. Louis BPP (2024)
