As to be expected a few forgeries and questionable overprints noted, condition varies in the early issues, overall in a good and fresh quality, many key items signed A. Brun, J-F. Brun or Calves. An attractive and generous assembly, neatly mounted in six albums

1860/1915, Lot 49 letters and postcards including “GORÉE 21 JUIL. 1860" cds in blue on complete folded letter “Voie anglaise” from Sénégal to Bordeaux, rated “12” centimes in manuscript on arrival (cert. Roumet), two frankings of the 1872 and 1877 colonial issues from Martinique to France, 1881, 25 c. yellow cancelled by black “N.ELLE. CALÉDONIE / NOUMÉA” cds in black to Marseille or 1892 “Bulletin de dépot” form Pondichérry as well as some postal stationery uses.

1840/1940, Introduction of the Uniform Penny Post, collection on exhibition pages beginning with a small handwritten note dated “2 July 1852” and signed “your obedient servant, William Mulready”, then an unused example each of the 1d black and 2d blue lettersheets and envelopes, lettersheet 1d black cancelled by black maltese cross and “LYNN /JY 12/1841" double-arc cds in black, correctly used to Falkenham and an unused Mulready caricature. There follows a page on the stamp issues with a used example each of the 1d black and 2d blue, 1d black on folded letter and 2d blue on slightly blued paper, cancelled by crisp black maltese cross and used on folded letter “with day list” within London. Also extensive documentation of commemoration in 1890 and 1940. Slightly mixed condition.

1861/1975 (ca.), nice specialised collection in four volumes and 2 stockbooks, mostly on exhibition pages, starting with good part large Hermes Heads, including Paris print more than complete with several shades, some nice letters, later Michel no. 96 – 107, 118 – 22, 144 – 57, IV, 369 – 71, 437 – 46 and issues from 1936 collected according to watermark types, nice part postage due, areas, etc, also some literature.

1867/80 (ca.), Austria 1867 issue used in Hungary, 5 volumes with stamps, multiples , pieces and about 40 entires with some registered mail. Almost only clear central strikes with many rare cancels as MADA, KRASZNA-BELTEK, RAJECZ, VENDEGI, VASKOH, SZUCSANY, SZEMLAK, etc, etc, also Ryan handbook (half leather bound, in box)
1871/1940 (ca.), extensive holding with used collection, specialised according to types, perforations and watermarks, made up as exhibition collection, and some additional (also later) material, containing First issue with 68 stamps/pieces and five entires, Second issue with about 190 stamps and 35 entires, followed by specialised sections of the next issues with also many multiples and covers/cards, 1874 issue with several pseudo double prints (6 opinion Visnyovszki). Altogether 21 albums and stockbooks.
1871/74, collection of the first two issues, used and on covers with over 160 entires, including single stamps in different types and colours, unused and used postal stationery, various covers of the lithographic issue with single frankings of Mi. 2 and 5, registered mail, local registered mail, postal stationery with additional franking, etc..Condition little mixed, but mostly fine. Several certificates and opinions.
