1895 (January 30), cover franked with 1/2d purple-brown, horizontal pair, and “Surcharged 1-1/2d.” on 2d. orange, tied by crisp Apia c.d.s. (Type 4) in black, to W.A. Cooper, U.S. Despatch Agency, San Francisco, with c.d.s. arrival backstamp (Feb 15), three hinge remnants on reverse, else a remarkably fresh cover. (Odenweller Census #459)

1895 (January 30), cover to W.A. Cooper, San Francisco, franked with 1d. and “Surcharged 1-1/2d.” on 2d, perf 12x11.5, tied by Apia c.d.s. (Type 4), date slugs reversed and inverted, with San Francisco Paid All c.d.s. arrival backstamp (Feb 15), two small adhesive remnants on reverse, else fine.

1896 (December 2), cover franked with two 1d. green, strip of three 2d. yellow, perforated 11, tied to cover to Lyon, France by Apia double-circle c.d.s. (Odenweller Type 5), reverse with N.Z. Marine P.O. c.d.s. (Nov 28) and Lyon c.d.s. receiver, back flap removed, small stain at left edge of cover, an attractive franking.

1899 (December 1), 5d. dull vermilion, vertical pair, overprinted “Provisional / Govt” in blue, tied to registered cover to London by Apia c.d.s., reverse with “N.Z. Marine P.O. / R.M.S. Mariposa” scalloped c.d.s. in blue, Registered/London transit (30 Dec) on front, some edge creasing, yet a scarce franking.

1900 (February 28), covers franked with 1d. pair and single 1/2d, perforated 11, to W.A. Cooper in San Francisco, cancelled with Apia c.d.s. (Type 5),  with March 9 c.d.s. arrival backstamp, a few small stains, else a fine example cancelled on the final day of operation of the John Davis Post Office.

1900 (February 28), cover franked with 1d. red brown pair and single 1/2d dull blue-green overprinted “Provisional Government”, perforated 11, to W.A. Cooper in San Francisco, cancelled with Apia c.d.s. (Type 5),  with March 9 c.d.s. arrival backstamp, a scarce cover, cancelled on the final day of operation of the John Davis Post Office.

1945, B.M.A. 1 c. - 10 $, mint never hinged, vf

1928-30, 2d. grey & maroon, overprint OFFICIAL (Type I) on the left and OFFISIEEL reading up, without stops, London Printing, full top left pane of sixty stamps, with Bradbury Wilkinson imprint at foot, showing the “Apostrophe between Fs of OFFICIAL” in position 9/1, never hinged, a few stamps with small tone spot on gum, a scarce pane, fine.

1941-8, 1-1/2d. blue-grey & yellow-buff, horizontal pair, watermark sideways,  overprinted “OFFICIAL / OFFISIEEL” horizontally, never hinged, fresh colour and well-centered, a fine and scarce variety; with photocopy of 2004 RPSL certificate.

1855/63, 1 d. brick-red on cream toned paper, pair with good to wide margins, used, very fine, signed Pfenniger and certificate RPSL (2024)

1900, Baden-Powell 3 d. pale blue, 21mm wide, neatly cancelled, very fine, signed Pröschold

1877, First British Occupation, “V.R. Transvaal” , 1d. orange red on thin, hard, transparent paper, imperforate, very good to large margins all around, neatly-postmarked with partial numeral cancel, good colour, very fine; with 1939 Royal Philatelic Society London certificate.

“FRANZFONTEIN MAY 29 1917”, clear strike in greenish-blue on ½ d. wrapper sent to Windhuk, reverse cds. “OUTOO S. W. AFRICA 1/6 17”, very fine

INDIVIDUAL SETTING 1a (nearly 3mm between Anglo and French; mixed capital Os): 20 pfg., fresh color and good perforation, tied by the typical clear cds. "LOME 20 10 14" to small piece, fine, a very rare stamp from the earliest of the individual settings with only 3 copies known, signed Roumet and certificate Holcombe (1995)

1914, 2mm Spacing: 5 pfg. green, fresh color and good perforation, used with cds. “LOME”, very fine, certificate Scheller (2023)

1914, 20 pfg. ultramarine, with variety from position 37 "TOG for TOGO", fresh color, good perforation, tied by cds. "LOME -4.10.14" to small piece, a very rare variety with only 40 printed, fine, signed Bothe BPP with certificate (1980)

1914, 2mm Spacing: 80 pfg. fresh color and good perforation, unused, very fine, scarce, certificate Scheller (2023)

1915, Sansane-Mangu 3 pf. brown, used, few slightly shortened perfs, otherwise fine and rare, signed and certificate BPA (1968)

10 pfg. red without watermark, Setting 3c, fresh color and good perforation, used with blue cds. “LOME 8/4 15”, a fine and very rare stamp with only a few printed from this individual setting, certificate Scheller (2023)

1915, Sansane-Mangu 20 pfg., fresh color and good perforation, unused, slightly toned, fine and rare, signed Champion and certificate Scheller (2023)

1910/12, German South Polar Expedition red vignette, tied by violet "Polarschiff Deutschland/Süd-Georgien/Grytviken/10. Dezember 1911" to picture postcard to Germany, with additional Falkland Islands 1d., tied by cds. "SOUTH GEORGIA DE 16 11". Also postcard with uncancelled vignette, written by a crew member from Buenos Aires  to Saxony.

Jamaika: 1936, 1. Nordamerikafahrt, Mitläufer der amerikanischen Post, Brief von “KINGSTON JAMAICA” mit Freimarke-Frankatur und amerikanischem Sonderbestätigungsstempel via Frankfurt nach Hamburg. Der Umschlag mit leichter senkrechter Faltung, sonst in guter Erhaltung, seltene Mitläuferpost aus Jamaika

1854/1993 (ca.), Antigua to Zululand, mint never hinged/unused and used balance of a collection, strength before the 1940s, some good values, many duplicates, some better areas with good part of Cape of Good Hope Triangles, some early imperforate British West Indies, together with some cpl. sets,  few multiples and a couple of covers, some forgeries noted. A few faults especially in the early issues, otherwise mostly fine to very fine and fresh condition, neatly housed in one stockbook

1859/1910 (ca.), unused and used collection with covers, some duplicates and better items like Ceylon SG-Nr. 10(2), 11 and 12 used, Mauritius SG-Nr. 39 used, St Helena SG-Nr. 1 used, St Vincent SG-Nr. 32 unused, etc., together with a selection of covers and postal stationeries. Some occasional faults as to be expected, mostly in fresh condition, a very nice and ecclectic assembly, neatly mounted on album pages

Revenues, strength before the 1930s with many duplicates, early States issues represented as well as the Australian Kangooroos and KGV issues, many types and shades, some occasional faults especially in the early issues, overall fine to very fine condition

1854/1931 (ca.), extensive mint never hinged/unused and used collection with covers, filled with an abundance of duplicates, very strong in the early Australian States, many better items starting with Samoa and some large multiples, Tasmania 1 s. vermilion pair unused, Queensland SG-Nr. 2 used, Tasmania 1853 1d.(2) and 4d. used, South Austrlia nice part with shades and some pairs, Western Australia SG-Nr. 1(3) used, New South Wales with Sydney Views and later issues with SG-Nr. 102/106(3), New Zealand 1d.(3), 6d. (9) and 1s.(2) imperforate used, Australia Kangooroos specimen incl. the high values, etc., together with a selection of covers with multiple and combination frankings. Some occasional faults, overall in good condition, some signed Köhler, Bühler, A.Brun, Richter, a most delightful and remarkable lot

1851/90 (ca.), unused and used collection with covers, incl. British Colonies, some duplicates and  better items like Nova Scotia S-Nr. 2/4(3) used with one on lettersheet, 1860 issue four cpl. sheets unused, Colony of Canada American Beaver (3), 1859 17c.(4), etc., together with a selection of entires and postal stationeries, soemwhat mixed condition

1845/1907 (ca.), unused and mostly used collection with covers, incl. Fiscals and Indian Feudatory States, many duplicates starting with Queen Victoria first imperforate issues with One Anna(9), Two Annas(7), Four Annas(9) all used, a few multiples, together with a fine selection of entires, covers and postal stationeries. Mixed condition

1854/1975 (ca.), interesting mint never hinged/unused and used accumulation with covers, incl. Fiscals, together with Burma, Convention and Feudatory States, plenty of material, some multiple and duplicates, starting with a small part of the early Queen Victoria imperforate issues, good choice of Convention and Feudatory States, also Burma, together with a selection of covers and postal stationeries mostly from the States, and a part with Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tibet. Some reprints and forgeries noted, somewhat mixed condition, overall fresh, in one stockbook

Postage Dues, strength before the 1940s with an abundance of duplicates, many cpl. sets, good part of Ceylon from the early engraved perforated, Persia from the imperforate Shah Nasredin issues, later sets with plenty of duplicates up to the 10 francs, Tabriz Definitives, etc., also some French Asian colonies,  Middle east with Iraq, Yemen, Korea, Palestine, Syria, together with a couple of covers and some souvenir sheets. 1821/72, English Incoming and Outgoing Mail, group of circa 50 covers, some franked, starting with some folded entires to Constantinople (7), one sent via the route Belgium, Semlin, Kustendje and handed over to the Lloyd, some with cds. "BRITISH.POST.OFFICE.CONSTANTINOPLE", 1847 shipmail entire letter from Yarmouth to Leghorn (Livorno), etc., mixed condition, in one album 

1840/1999 (ca.), mint never hinged/unused and used accumulation, incl. Postage Dues, many cpl. sets, starting with Penny Black, a few Cape Triangles, some better items in the modern area with India SG-Nr. 305-308 unused, fine part of Cyprus up to the 1 pound, together with a good selection of specimen, booklets and sheetlets, overall condition very fine, neatly housed in two stockbooks
