1840, Mulready letter sheet 1d black, stereo lost with seal, cancelled red MC, neat "Southport Penny Post" handstamp alongside, "OMSKIRK JU 13 1840" c.d.s in red on reverse to Liverpool, fine,  and Mulready envelope 1d. black, stereo A182, cancelled by black MC,  neat "T.P. ACTON" handstamp alongside, small tear backed by age-toned tape remnants., otherwise fine. A nice pair of covers showing Penny Post and Two Penny Post markings

Mulready letter sheet 1d. black, stereo A27, cancelled by experimental black Maltese cross of the London Two Penny Post, faint "T.P./ Leadenhall St." in red on front, "JA 16 / 1841" datestamp in red struck at St.Martins-le-Grand Chief Office, to East Acton. Small tear at top backed by paper, otherwise very fresh and fine.  

1 d. intense black, plate 6, 2 single copies BI/BJ, both with clear to large margins and cancelled by orange-red MC on letter sheet of "DEC 1 1840" to Dunfermline; light filing creases not effecting the stamps, fine, sign. Alberto Diena

1858/79, 1 d. rose-red, plate 160, tied by duplex "CROYDON FE 13 73" to large size embossed Valentine's cover (opened at two sides) with orignal contents to Pesham, unusual and attractive

1847/57, embossed issue 1 sh. deep-green, die 2, vertical strip of 3 with clear to good margins together with 1 d. red-brown and 2 d. blue, all with diamond-framed "17" on triple rate small ladie's envelope from London to Florence, Italy with transit and arrival marks; the 1 d. slightly defective where affixed originally around the edge of the cover; an attractive and rare franking, sign. Enzo Diena with certificate

ECUADOR: 2 sh. blue, tied by "C41" to entire letter from "GUAYAQUIL AU 2 1868" with adjacent Panama transit mark and "STEAMSHIP 20" to New York, filing creases not effecting the stamp, a scarce letter

GUADELOUPE: "PAID AT GUADALOUPE", red crowned-circle handstamp on front of folded letter sheet franked with France Colonies general issue 1859/62, 5 c. green and 40 c. vermilion in horizontal strip of 3, all with clear to large margins, the strip with large margins all around, with adjacent date stamp "POINTE-A-PITRE 10 JUIL 1863" and "STEAMSHIP 10" to New York, also red crayon rate marking "1/-", partly over the 5 c.; on reverse red date stamp of the British PO at Guadeloupe and transit mark of St. Thomas; a very fine and rare cover in very fresh condition Provenance: Edward J.J. ½ d. rose-red, plate 12, horizontal block of 8 with "E53" on entire letter with adjacent "PORT AU PRINCE MR 13 77" to St. Thomas with arrival mark; a horizontal filing crease effecting the top 4 stamps, still attractive and scarce franking

PUERTO RICO: ½ d. rose-red in vertical strip of 3 and 4 d. vermilion, plate 14, in vertical strip of 3, tied by 3 strikes of barred oval "C61" to entire letter from "PORTO RICO FE 27 76" to Vivero in Spain, showing on front red "LONDON PAID"; one ½ d. rounded corner, otherwise fine; a rare letter with the 13½ pence British packet rate, certificate Sismondo

VENEZUELA: 4 d. vermilion, plate 13, tied by barred oval "C60" to letter sheet with adjacent clear "LA-GUAYRA FE 9 75", double circle "CORREOS LA GUAYRA" and "NEW YORK DUE 10 U.S. CURRENCY" to New York; slight marginal faults with small tear not effecting the stamp; a scarce and fine entire

1916, Kangaroo 2£ black and rose, used, Sperati forgery, fine, signed in pencil

1868/74, 2 d. blue, pair and single stamp, tied by dotted "Q.L." to small envelope to Birmingham and redirected with GB 1 d. red from "BIRMINGHAM JU 2 75" to Malvern; British stamp slightly affixed over the edge of the cover and a little toned, still fine and attractive, a scarce combination cover
