POST IN ROMANIA: "133" SULINA, dottet numeral, clear central strike on Large Hermes meshed paper 40 l. lilac on blueish; stamp with marginal repair for optical reasons. An extremely rare cancellation, just one further strike recoded by Daes

1910's, John Mac Duell Hellenic Steamship Co, 2 covers, first with blue handstamp "Elliniki Atmoploia John Mac Duell & Varvour, Atmoplion Mykali" (steamer Mycale) tying a 25 lepta Flying Hermes on cover from Patras to Canada via Corfu, and Circular blue handstamp "Elliniki Atmoploia John Mac Duell" tying a 25 lepta lithographic definitive on corner cover to Berlin, cover folds and transportation marks, very unusual

RUSSIAN OCC. CRETE/RETHYMNON 1899 second Trident issue with stars, complete sheet of 32 of the 1 gr. claret, fine consition with only a few marginal hinge remainders and some fragile perforations.
1898 2m. black first issue fine ungummed block of 6 with Control mark used on the later Trident issues. A Peter Holcombe pencil note on reverse speculates that this is a Proof of the Control mark. Paper fold visible on reverse, fine and rare ex J U Schmitt.
