383rd Auction

1790, folded letter dated "St. Martin August 1st 1790" and adressed to "Mr. Thomas Waite, Berwick", forwarded by british merchant vessel "Rebecca" to Captain Bradley in Lancaster where it "Came to hand 15th September 1790" (manuscript on obverse) and was handed over to the Post Office and then, receiving two strikes of the black straight-line "LANCASTER", forwarded to Berwick and charged "1/6" on delivery.  A fascinating and very early document in good condition. 
Note: The letter is John Sanderson Waites response to his brother Thomas´s request to return home on a visit. He insists, that "despite the quick dispatch you perceive the Lancaster Vessels makes Backward and forward from Europe to the West Indies"..."Sorry am I that I cannot attend your kind invitation". Business wasn´t well and "the mode you have proposed might answer exceding well for young adventurers, but as I am advancing apace to Age - you must make some allowance". Ending in a hurry "as the Brig Rebecca is now on the point of sailing" he assures "perhaps early next year I shall through Gods assistance strain every point in my power to see you all".

1931, Flug vom 10.08, Brief mit Aufgabe Suriname mit Flugpoststempel vom 10.8.31 und DOX-Aufdruckmarken mit u.a. waagerechtem Paar 60 Cents via Miami nach Dover. Der Umschlag mit senkrechter Faltung links neben der Frankatur und eine Marke mit Gelbfleck, sonst in guter Gesamterhaltung, im Haberer Handbuch ist die Destination England nicht vermerkt, signiert H.E. Sieger

Österreich: 1929, Weltrundfahrt, Auflieferung Friedrichshafen bis Tokio, Brief von "WIEN FLUGPOST 12.VIII.29" mit u.a. Flugpost 1-3 Schilling, adressiert nach Benkoelen auf Sumatra mit rückseitigem Ankunftsstempel "LEBONGTANDAI 13.12.29" in guter Erhaltung. Ein dekorativer Brief mit außergewöhnlicher Destination Niederländisch-Indien

1829/73 (ca.), extensive postal history collection with 240 stampless covers, handily sorted out by De Beer numbers, mostly some domestic correspondence addressed to Samarang, Batavia or Rembang, starting with a broad selection of city oval and boxed handstamps with many clear strikes, spanning from "AMBAL RESIDENTIE" to "TOEBAN", together with Franco, Porto "90ct" and "150Cts" marks, some scarcer destinations like Soerakarta, Baglen or S Gravenhage, one folded entire addressed to the Chinese Consul in Batavia, another one to Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies Baron de Kock, etc.; some occasional faults, mostly fine to very fine. A most unusual specialist gathering, some certificates NBFV 

1833/52, group of 7 covers to Netherlands, mostly from Batavia, various postage annotations at "40", "45" and "60" cts., some better items with 1839 folded entire written in French "à l´île d´Onrust" on board of the Royal corvette "le Triton", with red handstamp "DEBOURSE AMERSFOORT"; some occasional aging, mostly fine
