1926-54 Officials, mint and used collection, neatly-mounted and written-up in detail, with many desirable items, noting  a scarce 1930–47 1d. double overprint block of four (toned), many mint multiples including positional blocks, marginal inscriptions, varieties, etc, a spot-check reveals much of the mint is never hinged, the occasional small fault, but a chiefly bright and fresh collection, ideal for study and expansion. 1926/48, small group of mint and used, on stock cards, many chosen for varieties, including 1d. Dromedaris miscut pair, imperforate multiples, and ink smear block, 1927 2d. Union Building misperforated strip of four, block of ten with dramatic ink smear, 1933-8 1-1/2d. Gold Mine with “missing shade on mine dump” and “broken chimney” , etc, with small run of used singles, varied condition with some small faults, an interesting group for the specialist.

1870/77 Coat of Arms, mix of mint and used examples, over thirty items, including Otto, Viljoen, and Borrius printings, though several suspect pieces included, 1883 Second Republic issues mostly mint, with comprehensive selection of Arms issues to 1896, V.R.I. / E.R.I. overprints, several likely reprints therein, 1902 Edward VII complete mint, 1903 printings including £1 green & violet mint, 1904-9 issues complete, the £1 used (1) and mint on chalky paper (1, crease), mixed condition, despite the spurious nature of some of the items, a useful reference group for further study.

1872/74, Typographed by J.P.Borrius, Potchefstroom, 1 d., 6 d. and 1 s. values, all on thin transparent paper, fine roulette 15½-16, with 1 d. bright carmine in varying shades, including a fine unused horizontal pair with gum and four further used examples; 6 d. ultramarine with seven used examples, including one with unusual inking flaw at top and another used with Orange Free State cancellation; 1 s. green unused (3) including a sheet marginal vertical pair and used (5), the occasional fault, but a chiefly fine and interesting group.
