CHILE: 18 Kreuzer gelborange, waagerechtes Paar und Einzelstück, die linke Marke des Paares unten gering berührt, sonst voll- bis sehr breitrandig, das Einzelstück mit rechtem Bogenrand, zusammen mit angeschnittener 6 Kreuzer braun mit gMR "217" und nebengesetztem L2 "MÜNCHEN 21 MAI 1856" auf Faltbrief nach Valparaiso. Der Brief war für den vom Absender vorgeschriebenem Leitweg über Ostende und Southampton ungenügend frankiert, wurde daher retourniert und einige Tage später neu versandt mit weiteren 33 Kreuzern in bar erhoben, die vollständige Frankatur von 1 Gulden und 33 Kreuzern entsprechend rückseitig vermerkt; durch die Marken verläuft oben eine ganz leichte waagerechte Knitterung, sonst tadellose, frische und ursprüngliche Erhaltung. Russia Civil War: 1920 (September) ordinary letter from MELITOPOL 5 9 20 to Denmark with Copenhagen roller cancel receiver on reverse. Franked on reverseWrangel issue 5 rublei on 5 kop perf, routed to Constantinople where the rare cachet of the Russian Post was applied. In 1920 the Russian Post (not to be confused with the Refugee Post) handled incoming mail from White Russia and the cachet enabled onward transmission without the addition of Turkish adhesives or payment of Postage Due. Very rare.
1854, Coat of Arms 1 r. blackish-blue on thin white paper, block of 23 stamps with clear to mostly wide margins and nice deep fresh colour, lightly cancelled by oval of bars; the largest multiple recorded of this stamp, a beautiful item in very fine condition (Edifil 34)
