Philatelic cover canceled on the last day (June 30, 1951) before the State postage stamps became obsolete on 1 July 1951 bearing Cochin 3 annas vermillion (SG 61), 2 pies grey-brown (SG 109), 9p ultramarine surcharged 6p in red (SG 126) and Travancore-Cochin 2p on 6ca blackish-violet (SG 1), 4p on 8ca carmine (SG 2), 1/2 anna on 1 ch yellow-green with error surcharge partly double (SG 3 var), 2a on 4ch red (SG 6), 2p rose-carmine (SG 12) and 4p ultramarine (SG 13).

1876, (1293), Sher Ali, “Post Office” Issue, lithographed in Kabul, in colour on white ground, mounted and annotated by denomination, shade, and plate position, approximately eighty stamps including one used pair, with a range of shades noting an extensive variety of greys, several purple singles, including 1sh denomination, and others with distinct rectangular ring-seal or ampersand-style markings of  Tashkurghan, range of greenish shades typical of those examples sold in Kabul, many with red smear cancels of Peshawar, etc, condition varies significantly, an ideal study lot for the specialist.
