de Coppet Collection; J.W. Scott Co., April, 1893, hardbound, piece torn from the original paper cover, otherwise fresh and fine condition, prices realized noted internally in ink, a historic sale, held over eight days from April 3rd to 26th, at the time the most important collection to have sold by auction, and the first recorded “name sale” in philatelic history. Estimate: 400 Euro
Dillemann, Paul; Hôtel Drouot, Paris, 22.–27, Febr. 1937, 92 pages + 27 photoplates on special paper, softcover (the binding partially detached on the spine), the catalogue itself in good condition. It is a very rare catalogue, because only 100 + III copies were printed. This is No. 15/100. Estimate: 80 Euro
FERRARI, PHILIPP DE – ‘Catalogue des Timbres-Poste / Composant la collection de M. Ferrari de La Renotière’ (14 catalogues, 1921–1925, compiled and described by Gérard Gilbert, expert and auctioneer in Paris. The catalogues of these legendary auctions are bound in four bibliophile quarter leather bindings, without any major imperfections and in good condition. With gold title imprint on the spine.
What makes this item special and probably unique are the hammer prices added by hand to each lot and, in almost all cases, the names of the buyers or agents. Alongside Burrus, you can see well-known names such as Griebert, Champion, Lichtenstein, Kosack and many others. The starting price and the hammer price are noted to the left of the description text, and the respective catalogue price at the time is noted to the right. This is truly a unique copy, in which someone (an employee?) has recorded all these entries. Estimate: 2,000 Euro
(This item is a heavy, medium-sized box. See the PDF for more details. -> Information on shipping for the literature auction)
Ferrari, De La Renotiere; “Die Ferrary-Auktionen,” Broquelet & Gilbert, Paris, the 1987 reprint of the complete sales, including the Edelmann (Zurich) sale of Greece, with prices realized, hardbound in blue, as new. Estimate: 100 Euro
Green, Colonel E.H.R.; 1942-1946, the complete run of twenty eight sales, with prices realised, offered by an extensive range of firms, pencil notations and docketing in places, expected imperfections to covers, but very good condition for the period, housed in three custom slipcases, a significant challenge to assemble and thus a rare opportunity to acquire a complete run of this iconic sale.
