1928, Flight Portugal - United States, cover addressed to Miss Olive Courtney (presumably the sister of the captain) in Montreal Canada, with six-line cachet "PRIMEIRO CORREIO AEREO TRANSATLANTICO LISBOA-AMERICAN JUNHO 1928" and Frank Courtney's 11-line affidavit describing the flight, fire at sea and the rescue. In New York the affidavid was duly notarised by Ada Harrison, Notary Public, very fine, and to our knowledge the only cover in existence (Muller.-Nr. 6)

Only very few coversof these commemorative covers are known to exist, they do not bear the 3 c. goverment stamp for the pre-payment of the regular postage. All these covers are signed by J. Soto with the hand-written inscription "Recuerdo del primer correo aereo de Cartagena Febrero 21 de 1920", stamp with good margins and just touched at lower left, otherwise very fine, extremely rare, Holcombe certificate
