MARIUPOL (Ukraine): 10 kopeck brown and blue, cut into at base, otherwise clear to good margins, tied by pre-philatelic double line "MARIUPOL 19 JUNE 1858" to lettersheet to Odessa. This stamp with tiny corner crease at upper right, resulting in the tiny marginal tear. Still attractive and rare, just 2 further No.1 entires have been recorded with this cancellation.

The 'L'union' was an old exhibition balloon owned by Gabriel Mangin, loaded on September 21, 1870 with 275 kg of mail with pilot Albert Bertaux at Vaugirard Gas Works, where it burst on inflation. The mail was recovered and put on the following official flights; a rare and interesting entire, certificate RPS (2006)
