1869/1949, excellent unused and used collection with ca. 750 stamps, incl. a fine part of officials, specialised with shades, some large multiples, many interesting items, together with a selection of imperforated colour proofs blocks of four of the “POSTAGE” type on thin watermarked paper, som occasional faults, overall in very good condition, a lovely specialist lot, on loose album leaves and stockcards
1885/1944 (ca), group of over 48 covers, postal stationeries, some interesting items incl. registered mail, some mixed frankings with British India and a post office book record page, together with a few unused stationeries, an interesting assembly in mixed condition
Pre-Stamp / 1932, Jaipur balance of stamp and postal history consignment, with stamps including unused 1904 Litho Durbar Press ½ a. to 2 a., 1904 Recess by Perkins Bacon perf. 12 ½ a. to 2 a., 1905-8 Issue, perf. 13 ½, ¼ a. to 8 a., etc, postal history (14 items) including selection of seven pre-stamp including Chieftain mail with intaglio seals in black or red, 1904 ½ a. blue on native cover tied by intaglio seal, ½ a. ultramarine cover with “Too Late” handstamp, 1903/7 India Sea Post cards originating in Jaipur, etc, some small faults, an overall fine and eclectic group.
1904/6, ½ a. study, with 1904 Recess by Perkins Bacon printings including unused singles and multiples perforated 12, 12 ½, and compound 12 x 12 ½, the latter including an uncommon lower left sheet corner block of eighteen, as well as a single usage on cover to Sawai Jaipur, 1906 printings including a 1911 double weight registered cover to Sawai Jaipur Dak Khana Sadar, usual flaws, a difficult group.
1904/6, 2 a. deep green study lot, with 1904 perf. 12 and compound perf. 12x12 1/2 , including a striking strip of four on large piece in combination with ½ a. (2) and 1 a. strips of four, 1906 printings on cover including combination usage with ½ a. blue, 1916 uprated ½ a. stationery envelope with ½ a. blue adhesive from Khachariawas to Sawai Jaipur, and two singles with 1912 typographed ½ a. pale ultramarine on registered cover from Todaraisingh, usual imperfections, else chiefly fine.
1905, 4 a. / 8 a. study lot, with 4 a. in a range of subtle shades of chestnut, including usage on 1908 four times rate registered cover, 8 a. examples including 1926 3 a. on 8 a. Provisionals, noting corner block of four showing surcharge types I-III, one with “broken 3”, usages including uprated 1930 registered internal postcard, and 1928 registered ½ a. combination cover to Sawai Jaipur, and striking three-colour franking 5x weight registered cover, typical mixed condition, with much being fine.
1905/26, 1 r. study lot, with 1905 Perkins Bacon printings including original gum singles in orange-yellow, yellow, and yellow-ochre, the latter also in an unmnounted upper margin strip of three, 1926 3 a. on 1r. surcharges including blocks of four, one showing the “broken 3” variety, on-cover usages including a 1937 uprated registered stationery card from Khandela to Hameerpura, and 1933 combination usage with ½ a. Rajahead issue, condition slightly mixed as usual, overall fine.
Jaipur, 1911, ¼ a. to 2 a., imperforate, typographed by the Jaipur State Press, a mostly unused collection on pages, neatly-arranged and annotated, being a detailed study of the printings of this issue, with over thirty sheets of six displaying a range of shades, settings, etc, as well as eight covers, including combination frankings, noting registered cover from Nivai to Sawai Jaipur with 2 a. deep green in combination 1911 1 a. rose red (ex Gaurav), condition varies as typical, much being fine, a most attractive holding, ideal for the specialist.
1912/31, 1/4a to 1 r., typographed by the Jaipur State Press, perforated 11, a detailed, mostly unused study, much mounted and annotated on over 35 pages, both regular and official issues overprinted “SERVICE” in black, a range of singles, multiples, and over 24 covers, including three-colour, combination, and official frankings, displaying an array of shades, perforation gauges, varieties (i.e. missing framelines, “Syate” for “State”, etc.), with highlights including ½ a. pale ultramarine gutter block of 24 with watermark inverted, ½ a. blue irregular block of 20 with unrecorded 11 ¾ mm gutter, scarcer rates including triple weight registered, and more, some faults to be expected, but many fine or better examples to be found, an impressive holding that took great effort to assemble, ideal for expansion.
1912, ¼ a. pale olive-yellow, typographed by the Jaipur State Press, perforated 11, horizontal strip of three, variety imperforate vertically, cancelled with crisp Sawai Jaipur c.d.s. (25 April, 1913), catalogue value is for a pair only, fresh and very fine; ex Park.

1912, ¼ a. olive, typographed by the Jaipur State Press, perforated 11, unused, with large part original gum, marginal gutter block of eight with striking double vertical perforations at left, small tear to upper right stamp, else a fine and most unusual error.
1913, ¼ a. pale olive-yellow, typographed by the Jaipur State Press, perforated 11, unused, with part original gum, block of four, variety imperforate horizontally, some irregular perforations and gum with slight wrinkles as commonly found, else fine.
1926, 3 a. surcharge (Type 5) in red on 1 r. yellow, unwatermarked, perforated 13 ½, variety surcharge inverted, unused, with part original gum, slight gum crease at top and thin spot at foot, else of fresh and fine appearance, a scarce variety; with 2015 B.P.A. certificate.
1906, ¼ a. olive-yellow, group of six covers, with single franking on illustrated postcard, vertical pair on single weight cover to Sawai, block of six on triple weight cover from Sikaray to Sawai, seven singles used in combination with two ½ a. blue on registered uprated stationery cover from Nawalgarh, single franking in combination with 3pi Edward VII of India from Belanganj Agra to Gangapur, and uprated ¼ a. stationery card of India used from Muzaffarnagar to Malarna via Jaipur City, some with usual tears/creases, but a useful group illustrating six different usages.

BRITISH CENSOR MARKS AND SEALS: extensive research collection with over 390 covers and cards, starting with a rare blue pencil strike on a very early card (creased) from “HEILBRON OC 24 (18)99” to England, followed by a fine selection of scarce handwritten censorships including Fauresmith, Smithfield and Rouxville, scarce censor marks from Jagersfontein, Philippolis, Bethulie, Edenburg, Jacobsdale, etc., many interesting usages with a strong array of censor marks combinations, plenty of multiple frankings, registered mail and some destinations abroad, many expertly described and neatly mounted on exhibition pages, mixed condition as to be expected.
