CUBA - ARGENTINA: 1874, Entire letter from Santiago to Buenos Aires, transported by forwarding agent "J. NEILS & Co. ST. THOMAS W.I." (blue oval on reverse), franked with US 10 c. brown and (most likely) GB 4 d. orange which came off either already at St. Thomas or in transit, mailed "ST. THOMAS ../10 1874", transported by United States and Brazil mail steamship company vessel to Montevideo with small blue "CORREOS MONTEVIDEO 1 DIC 74", applied over the empty space of the British stamp. A very interesting and scarce letter of the "Argentina Mail"

2 Groschen grauultramarin in Mischfrankatur mit NDP 1869, Ziffernzeichnung 10 Groschen gelblichgrau, waagerechter 3er-Streifen und zwei Paare, mit Hannover DKr. "FARGE 8/9" bzw. die Marken in Ziffernzeichnung mit handschriftlicher Entwertung auf Paketbegleitbrief für ein 2 Pfund 350 Gramm schweres Paket via Bremen nach Toledo, Ohio. Die Brustschildmarke ist sehr gut geprägt, die 10 Groschen-Marken auf dünnem Papier sind bis auf das rechte Paar gut gezähnt und in einwandfreier Erhaltung, leichte Alterstönung . Der deutsche Portoanteil von 2 Groschen (Grenzzone) ist durch die 2 Groschen-Marke abgedeckt, das Weiterfranko von 70 Groschen durch die sieben 10 Groschen-Marken

Bis auf zwei kleine Nadellöcher sind die Marken des 5er-Streifens in der besseren b-Farbe in einwandfreier Erhaltung. Es handelt sich um die drittgrößte Einheit dieser Marke.
