1832, POMONA: Folded letter dated "Bordeaux 12 March 1835" addressed to New York, endorsed "pr Pomona", red "PHILA 5 MAY" octagon and matching red octagon handstamp "Full Rigged Ship" struck alongside, manuscript rate "14½" rate re-rated to double "27", a very fine and choise strike of this popular marking

1840, OPPOSUM: Folded letter addressed to Livingston, charged with "1/-", the new rate introduced in March 1839, missed the sailing of the "Peterel" on the 10th and put on "Opossum", the last sailing packet to leave Falmouth on 5th June. Arrived at Halifax 13th July and sent to Boston by sea, charged 20¾ cents to Livingston
