1864 8 p. purple, 1 a. brown and pair and a single 2 a. yellow, used on an envelope, tied by the Calcutta `B1´ octagonal in black, also two manuscript ink line cancels and the boxed ÌNDIA/PAID` in red, sent to Epping, England, backstamp dated February 9th 1864, with arrival datestamp in black to front March 13th, endorsed `Via Calcutta and Marseille Per after packet`,  does have a vertical filing crease to left side well clear of stamps, some wrinkling to edges and the odd minor tone spot to stamp perforations, otherwise a very fine tri-colour combination franking via France; a scarce example.  Cert. 1866, fiscal stamp 6 a. with overprint "POSTAGE", with 8 p. purple, tied by Bombay duplex of 29.12.1866 to blue cover via France and forwarder to Edinburgh. A very fine and rare entire. Certificate Holcombe (1987)

1948, Gandhi 1½ a., Colour Proof in bistre-brown, imperforated on gummed paper and affixed on small card, part of design teared out on top and some toning on reverse, still a presentable example of this very rare proof, certificate  BPA (2016)

SHIP LETTER 6 NO 1828" and "1 / 2", British cds. and entry mark "INDIA LETTER PLYMOUTH"; cover with interesting text refering to trade with Afghanistan and Kabul, fine, scarce

"CANNANORE": fair strike on folded entire letter to London (Giles 3), with adjacent oval "OUT STATION SHIP LETTER MADRAS 20 JU 1833" (Giles SD 11), British entry via Portsmooth and arrival red cds. "C 2 OC 1833", fine and scarce 
 

"CHANDERNAGORE": partial strike on folded entire letter to Calcutta (Giles 1), with adjacent "AM", dated inside "April 13th / 30", postmark partly previously redrawn, still fine, rare mail from that French settlement

 "DINAPORE": in red, excellent strike dated 1839 on reverse of a folded entire letter to Calcutta, adjacent red "PM", fine and very scarce (Giles Type 4)
 

"GOONAH": excellent strike on reverse of an envelope to Hants, England, with various transit and arrival cds. "LONDON JU-16 58" adjacent, on front boxed "INDIA UNPAID" (two types), fine and very rare cancellation, unrecorded by Giles

"MIRZAPORE": fair strike of a three-line "MIZAPORE BEARING " (unrecorded by Giles) on reverse of a folded entire letter to Cawnpore, dated inside 1848, endorsed "to await arrival" on front, reverse arrival framed "CAWNPORE BEARING" (Giles-Nr. 13), entire with an intact and exquisite small silver seal; fine and rare combination

"NAGORE": good strike on small delicate native paper folded entire letter to Madras (Giles 1), adjacent framed "AM" and arrival red Madras "G.P.O. 1853 AU" (Giles MX5), some acidic ink imperfections, still fine, very scarce
