10 pfg. red without watermark, Setting 3c, fresh color and good perforation, used with blue cds. “LOME 8/4 15”, a fine and very rare stamp with only a few printed from this individual setting, certificate Scheller (2023)

1881 (Sep 20), 1/2a postal stationery cover of India, indicia cancelled by Darmsala squared circle, additionally franked with 1rp red brown 1880-1 Issue, small red manuscript marks surrounding adhesive to discourage postal fraud, cancelled overtop with black manuscript, to Peshawar, with c.d.s. arrival backstamp (Sep 22), tear to back flap and hinge remnants on reverse, else a fine mixed franking, particularly attractive with the Afghan franking on the front.

1921, Courthouse in Baku 1000r. together with 33000 on 250r. and 66000 on 2000r., tied by cds. “BAKU 19 9 22” to reverse of cover via Moscow to Warsaw with arrival mark, some wea, one adhesives with faults, yet attractive and scarce

1844, Inclinados 300 r. black, clear to good margins, lightly cancelled, very fine, signed Starauschek 

1849, 60 r. black, block of 4 and 2 pairs with 90 r. black and 1854, coloridos 10 r. blue, all tied by blue boxed "N. FRIBURGO" to letter sheet to France with red and blue "P.D.", transit- and arrival marks. One 60 r. affected by cover crease, otherwise fine. A very attractive and scarce franking.

1876/77, Dom Pedro rouletted ,200 r. black, tied by segmented cork cancel in black with adjacent "RIO DE JANEIRO 1 FEV.83" letter sheet to Zürich, Switzerland, carried on French Packet 'Sénégal' with octagonal 'RIO DE JANEIRO / PAQ. FR. J. No. 3' datestamp in red (Salles fig. 1080). An attractive cover to an unusual destination at this time.

1872, 2½ pia. dark violet, fresh colours, tied by cds. "POSTE KEDEVIE EGIZIANE CAIRO 7 73" repeated alongside, to envelope to Wien, adjacent strike of the straightline "Franca" in italic (payment according to the Austro-Egyptian postal convention in effect from 1868), arrival cds. "WIEN 22 7 73". A fine, correctly franked at 2½ piasters and scarce cover 

Miscellaneous: 1931, telegram from the president of France, Gaston Dumergue, to the Emperor Haile Selassie, postmarked "ADIS ABEBA 9.1.31" in violet. Very fine and scarce

1877/9, nine letters to John Edward Bush, Governor of  Kauaʻi, several on Department of Finance letterhead, noting others from W.O. Smith, Attorney at Law, A.S Chartwell, Counsellor at Law, and E.O. Hall & Son, both regarding debts owed by the Governor, typical folds and the odd stain, an historically fascinating group.

1883 (June 22), two-page manuscript letter, signed “John Kapina, Minister of Finance”, on Department of Finance letterhead, to His Excellency Paul Kanoa, Governor of Kanai, regarding taxation issues, with further notation at bottom signed F.S. [Franklin Seaver] Pratt, then serving as Registrar of Public Accounts, apparently an English translation of an attached two-page manuscript letter, this in Hawaiian, also signed John Kapina and F.S. Pratt, a third letter, also in Hawaiian and on Department of Finance letterhead and signed Kapina, typical folds, but a scarce group. Note: Kapina was serving at the time as Minister of Finance of Hawaii, having previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and as Governor of Maui

1883 (May 18), manuscript receipt, datelined Honolulu, regarding payment of rent of $300, signed on behalf of H.H. R. Keelikolani [Princess Luka Ruth Ke'elikōlani], one of the largest landowners in Hawaii, and long-time Governor of the Island of Hawaii, filing folds and tear through part of message, a scarce letter, dated only days before Princess Keelikolani’s death.

1886 (Oct 7), manuscript letter, signed “D.A. McKinley”, on Consul-General letterhead, datelined San Francisco, to Santa Cruz, regarding “mail for the young Princess David,” noting that it was to be sent “by the Australia, which sails for Honolulu on the 11th,” filing folds, a scarce letter from David Allison McKinley, Consul-General of Hawaii and brother of President William McKinley.

1886 (August 26), manuscript letter in Hawaiian, datelined San Mateo and signed “Poomaikelani” [Princess Virginia Kapoʻoloku Poʻomaikelani], file folds, with some loss primarily along centre fold and slight separation at bottom, a scarce letter from a member of the Hawaiian Royal Family, and sister of Queen Kapiʻolani.

1891, Mehrabi 1 ch. – 5 kr., imperforated proofs in issued colours, ungummed, all from sheet corners. Very fine and rare.

1924, Ahmed Shah, imperforated die proof of kran values, in colour of 30 kr., but without value expressed. Very fine and very rare.

1948, Doar Ivri 1000 m. , perf 11, vert. pair with full tab, imperforated between the stamps, unhinged with some small gum faults on the lower stamp. Very fine. A rare variety, not listed by Bale

1945, 7 s. two singles and 10 s. vertical pair, tied to registered commercial cover from Hong Kong to Canton with arrival on reverse, the envelope with vertical fold at right not affecting the adhesives, fine usage of the Japanese stamps at Hong Kong 

1921/44, 1c. black to $5 green & red on yellow Sultan Suleiman, including both 5c. purple and deep reddish purple shades, hinged, some with small remnants, fresh colours, chiefly fine-very fine.

1934, 8th sample fair 10 c.-25 l. complete incl. airmail stamps, unmounted mint, slightly toned gum, otherwise fine, 5-25 l. signed Garanza with certificate (2018)

1856, Hidalgo 2 r. green, MAZATLAN, with re-entry (between pos. 48 and 54), used with boxed red handstam, Very fine and  rare 

1861, Hidalgo 1 r. on green, tied by large fancy sunburst "FRANCO YRAPUATO" to letter sheet to Guanajuato. Very rare, signed Jaretzky 

1866, Maximilian litho 13 c. blue, TULA 29-1866, tied by "FRANQUEA/DO EN TULA" to entire letter to Mexico city. Very rare, just 490 stamps delivered. Certificate Jaretzky (2012)

1868, thin figures 100 c. black on brown, horizontal pair, with thick figures 12 c. and 50 c., tied by Durango c.d.s., with adjacent "CERTIFICADO EN DURANGO SALE EN 11 DE Febro DE 1871" to registered cover front to Guichapa. Receipt on front. Fine and rare. Signed Bash, certificate MEPSI (1995)

1874/83, 10 c. black, tied by c.d.s. "VERA CRUZ FRANCO ABR 18 1877" to part paid letter sheet via New York to Genova, Italy, here taxed and postage due stamps 1 l., 5 c. and 10 c. added, tied by Genova cds., very fine

1867, 1st printing, serrate perf., 4 r. rose in combination with 3rd printing imperf. 1 r. blue, tied by oval  "FRANQUEADO GUADALAJARA" to entire letter May 15th, 1867, to Zacatecas. 1 r. small marginal defect and both stamps slightly affected by filing crease. A great rarity; just 2 entires of the 2 r. have been recorded. An amazing combination cover. Certificate MEPSI (2013)

2nd printing, thin laid batonne paper 2 r. rose, diagonal bisect, with 3rd printing imperf. 2 r. green, tied by "FRANCO EN C. GUZMAN" to cover front. Very rare, the only such combination recorded. Certificate MEPSI (1998)

3rd printing imperf. 4 r. blue on quadrille paper, nice colour and large margins, tied by "FRANQUEADO GUADALAJARA" to letter sheet with adjacent "FRANQUEADO TEPIC", to Mazatlan. Very fine and most attractive; just 2 other entires recorded with this stamp. Certificate MEPSI (2004)

3rd printing imperf. 4 r. blue on thin laid batonne paper, in combination with 1868, 1 r. green on laid paper, tied by fancy laurel leaves to entire letter September 25th, 1868, to Leon. A unique combination ot 1867 and 1868 issues and a very late use of the provisional issue. Certificate MEPSI (2003).  

1926, State Emblem 20 m. and 5 m. tied by black star-framed “TSETSERLIG MANDAL 31 12 28 MONGOLIA” to commercial red band cover to Kalgan, in combination franking with Chinese 4 c. Junk affixed on reverse to pay for further transmission, fine and scarce
