5 c. red-brown on blued paper, vertical strip of four, the upper two stamps partly touched, the two lower stamps with clear margins, tied by target to lettersheet with part of contents, with red "VALPARAISO 1 MARZO 54", partly tying the right stamp, to Santiago. The very fine and rare letter. (Scott1)

5 c. red-brown on blued paper, vertical pair, together with 10 c. deep bright blue on yellowish paper, all with ample to mostly large margins, the pair with part of adjoining stamp at base, tied by bright red target cancels, crosswise applied on the pair, with adjacent red straight-line "COPIAPO" to lettersheet to Cordoba, Argentina, . The paper of the entire partly slightly weak in the folds, otherwise very fine and fresh. A beautiful and very rare letter. One of only two recorded covers with the complete first issue and one of very few recorded covers to Argentina with the First London Printing. Certificate Holcombe (1985). (Scott1+2)

10 c. deep bright blue on yellowish paper, four single examples with generally large margins (two spots tiny touched), cancelled by target, on 2nd rate letter sheet with part of content, with adjacent red "SANTIAGO 6 ABRIL 54" to Valparaiso. Very fine and attractive. The largest recorded franking of the 1853 10 centavos on letter. Signed A. Diena.(Scott 2)

Desmadryl 5 c. pale reddish brown, block of four, nice colour and clear to large margins, neatly cancelled by target handstamp. Tiny trivial corner crease at lower right, otherwise very fine and most attractive. A rarity; the nicer of just 2 recorded blocks of four of this stamp. (Scott 3)

Charged '21' décimes handstruck in black; tariff of  August 1849 for a single letter. Fine and rare usage of this early issue on an entire to Europe. 5 c. pale reddish brown, block of four, fresh colour and ample to large margins, with part of neighbour stamps at right, used with straight-line "FRANCA" on letter sheet, dated "Chillan, Abril 14 1857", to Valparaiso. 5 c. hazelnut-brown, marginal block of four, partly touched at left otherwise with exceptional margins all round and marginal inscription "..tar del cimento" at base, tied to entire letter from Copiapo 1856 to Valparaiso, endorsed 'por Vapor'. Desmadryl 5 c. chestnut brown, nice deep colour, just touched that central left, otherwise large margins, tied by target to letter sheet, dated "26.Janvier 1854", with adjacent straight line handstamps "SERENA" and paquebot marking "CABOTAJE", and endorsed "Vapor", to Valparaiso. Very fine and most unusual; supposed to be the earliest recorded use of the 5 c. chestnut-brown and very rare use of the pre-philatelic "CABOTAJE". Certificate Moorhouse (2007) (Scott 3b)

10 c slate blue, horizontal strip of five with heavily shifted clichés, thus central stamp slightly touched at top, right stamp lightly cut into at right, otherwise good to enormous margins, with parts of three neighbours stamps, used with red grid. Fine and very rare multiple. Certificate Maier BPP (2008)

10 c. slate blue, horizontally bisected, lower half with good margins, tied by target to undated cover with adjacent red straight line "MELIPILLA" to Santiago. A fine and scarce entire. Certificate BPA (1992) (Scott 5e)

10 c. deep blue, 2 bisects, originating from the same stamp, torn instead of cut, one touched at top, otherwise good to large margins, tied to 2 letter sheets of the same correspondence, from Valparaiso March 31st resp. April 2nd, 1854, to Santiago. Very fine. A most fascinating and attractive 'matching pair'.

10 c. blue, 2 diagonal bisects of different stamps, both with large margins, used together, looking like an ordinary stamp, tied by target handstamp to letter sheet from " SANTIAGO  10 SBRE 55" to Valparaiso. Extremely fine and fresh (stamp lifted for inspection and replaced). A beautiful and rare entire. Certificate BPA (1994)

5 c. burnt sienna, a very nice example with large margins, tied to letter sheet with adjacent red "SANTIAGO 20 OCRE 54" and double line "PANAMA TRANSIT" to Bordeaux. Charged in France with "21" decimes. Very fine and fresh. A most attractive and extremely rare letter, one of very few recorded of the Gillet issue to Europe.

Underpaid by 10 centavos, charged with "20" in manuscript and circular marking in red. An extremely rare multiple on cover. Certificate BPA (1992).

5 c. burnt sienna in combination with Second London Printing 5 c. red-brown on blued, both with large margins, tied by light 7 line target with adjacent "CONCEPCION" datestamp  to letter sheet, dated March 24, 1856, and endorsed 'Polynesian' to Valparaiso. The entire cleaned and address partly improved, still fine. An extraordinarily rare combination. Certificate Rendon AIEP (1990) and Maier BPP (1992)

5 c. dark burnt sienna (chocolate brown) with full to large margins, in combination with horizontal pair Desmadryl 5 c. pale reddish brown, left stamp touched at base, followed by a scissors cut into the right stamp, otherwise full to large margins, tied by target to letter sheet with red cds. 5 c. deep chocolate brown, horizontal pair, the left stamp just clear at top, otherwise good to very large margins with parts of two neighbours stamps at left, tied by seven bars target to lettersheet with adjacent red "SANTIAGO 31 JULIO 55" to Valparaiso. Very fine and extremely rare. We have just one further such franking recorded.

5 c. deep chocolate brown with full to large margins including sheet margin with inscription "la direccion y" at base, in combination with horizontal pair 5 c. burnt sienna, right stamp tiny touched point at top, otherwise full to large margins including 11 mm sheet margin at left, tied by target to entire letter, dated "Tome, Agosto 4 1855" and endorsed "Per Palmena", to Valparaiso. Very fine and fresh. One of the most outstanding letters of Chilean philately, bearing marginal copies of both Gillet Recess values and transported by ship from a small town which possessed no datestamp at that time. Lithographed 5 c. brown with the dramatic lithographic transfer flaw 'squeezed CENTAVOS' with just the "S" of "CENTAVOS" showing and base (Blank 5/Vt ½), leaving a 'Dwarf stamp' of only 21 instead of 23 mm in height. Nice fresh colour and full to large margins, lightly cancelled by target. A very fine and extremely rare stamp. Certificate BPA (1992) (Scott 7 var)
